Vrijdagavonden: Les Voizines: How to organize a zine fair?

  • De bar opent om 19:00
  • Programma start om 20:00
  • Inkom: Pay What You Can
  • Language: English

Les VoiZines, a collective of zine enthusiasts, organized the 'Zine Happening' festival for the last time in May 2023. This festival was a significant part of the underground culture and the zine scene in Ghent, where people were encouraged to create and share their own publications. Since its first edition in 2015, the event brought people together and renewed interest in zines, sparking a zine revival in Ghent.

But you might be wondering, what is a zine? Zines are handmade, independent publications that people create for themselves, to connect with others, to showcase their work to the world, and more—the possibilities are endless! There's only one rule: there are no limits.

During this Friday evening, we'll take a look back at the previous editions of our beloved festival through a short film by Elien Ronse and a zine fair blueprint presentation by Les VoiZines. Additionally, there will be free zines and free cake for everyone! Join us for a celebration of DIY culture and, hopefully, a passing of the torch!

Les Voizines

Les VoiZines is a creative collective founded in 2015 by neighbors Valentine Gallardo and Gerlin Heestermans. Its current members are Letizia Acosta, Jana Vasiljević and Valentine Gallardo. With a passion for DIY culture and a shared love for zines, they have collectively crafted a temporary space where creativity and community flourish.

Vrijdagavonden
