Les VoiZines werd in 2012 opgericht door zine enthousiastelingen die vonden dat het hoogtijd was dat Gent zijn eigen zine festival kreeg. Bleek dat ze niet de enigen waren; de eerste editie van Zine Happening trok meteen een groot aantal bezoekers en vormde de basis voor een internationale community die nog steeds de gezellige, DIY sfeer bepaalt die er hangt tijdens het festival. Na vorige edities in het lokale buurtcentrum en het Industriemuseum, verhuist Zine Happening in 2019 naar Kunsthal Gent, een nieuw kunstencentrum in het centrum van de stad. Deze editie belooft nog veel groter te worden, aangezien de krachten zullen worden gebundeld met Ghent Art Book Fair.Zoals altijd wordt het grootste deel van het festival ingenomen door de markt, die zines zal tonen van meer dan 70 artiesten en collectieven van over de hele wereld.Centraal staat dit jaar Anna Haifisch (Leipzig, DE), een gevierd stripauteur en organisator van zine fest Millionaires Club, die zal komen praten over haar werk(proces) en zal voorlezen uit haar werk. Maar er is meer: een bingo spel met vilten sculpturen door Leonee Vannut, tattoos door Dennis Tyfus, Lena Faict en Pinkythumby, een borduur workshop door Ameli Neumann en nog veel meer!
