Engagement Ghent Open Gathering

What are Engagement Open Gatherings?

ENGAGEMENT organizes monthly open gatherings in Brussels, Ghent and soon also some in Antwerp. These gatherings are built around the idea of peer-to-peer support and solidarity, and are visited by artists, cultural workers and art students who want to gather around the topics of sexism, sexual harassment and abuse of power in the arts.

Together, we try, every time again, to create a space for sharing and listening. Together we build this space. It is also a way to get to know the work of ENGAGEMENT. Some people decide, after having been present at some of those meetings, to engage more actively in the work, which we welcome. ENGAGEMENT is not a fixed group of employees, it exists out of people that engage with the topics we want to tackle.

It is not a problem at all if you have never been part of an open gathering like this before. We are always happy to welcome new faces. If you have specific needs in regards to the accessibility of the space, please let us know. We are happy to do what we can to make the space accessible to everyone.

If you want to know more on what ENGAGEMENT stands for, you can read the statement on our website or send us an e-mail.
