Concert Fleur Khani

Programme Open Monuments Day / Architecture Day 2023

14:00 GUIDED TOUR through Kunsthal Gent, focusing on the building and its history as well as how Kunsthal Gent uses and activates the building.

16:00 THEATRICAL CONCERT FLEUR KHANI (duration: '45 - keyboard: Hazel Halle)

A theatre maker, performer and musician, Fleur Khani defines herself through strong artistic choices such as her musicality, use of voice and focus on body, polyphony and interdisciplinary creation.

Fleur Khani designates her Flemish-Iranian cultural origins and emphasises multi-cultural identities. Khani integrates freedom, femininity and a touch of mysticism. With her dreamy vocal style, warm synths, catchy beats, femininity and self-written lyrics, her music denotes a celebration of alternative ways of being and constitutes a resistance to cultural narratives.

Fleur Khani focuses on creating theatrical concerts where, stripped of artistic codes, she stays close to her self on the one hand, while also challenging traditional artiste frameworks and putting her own intriguing spin on them. Her thirst for experimentation creates new ways of presenting, where collaboration, authorship and authenticity are important.

Fleur Khani's theatrical concerts are activating and provide space to collectively process and externalise issues, leading to an immersive and reflective theatrical concert experience.

In working towards a new album, her theatrical concerts are a foothold. Fleur wants to invite her audience to help guide her music, artistic journey and her album. Fleur therefore invites her audience to translate what they experience, by immortalising the theatrical concert via your mobile device and sharing it on social media.

Through social media, not only do we collectively share a reflection of Fleur's theatrical concert, you as a spectator and your reactions, the space or unique ambiance; also, the performance has as its premise the exploration of mutual belonging, the reflection of representation and the multifaceted nature of identity and perception, unravelling shared experiences and universal truths.
