Les Voizines: Zine Happening VIII

Zine Happening VIII

Zine Happening is coming back to Kunsthal Gent! On May 20 and 21, it will be organized for the last time by collective Les VoiZines.

Since 2015, Zine Happening has grown into more than just a book market. It has become a place where artists of all levels can network, have fun and learn from each other. During this edition, the focus is on collectivity, collectives and collaboration.

The program of Zine Happening VIII promises to be a vibrant showcase of collectivity and diverse creativity. The festival will not only present local talent (such as poet Dominique de Groen, winner of the culture prize city of Ghent 2022), but also introduce international artists to the Ghent audience. The program offers enough variety with, among others, Matrijaršjia (print collective from Serbia), Doner Club (art and zine collective from Italy), La Bûche (zine collective from Switzerland) and the Iranian artist Sepideh Sarlak. On Saturday night, there will also be an "indie comic award" for the best short story: 'De Plastieken Plunk', judged by a professional jury and organized by Pulp De Luxe. Take part in free workshops, a tombola or listen to inspiring artist talks, get tattooed or take home a unique print.

Zine Happening, because supporting small presses and artists is good for you and your community. Courtesy of: Pulp de Luxe, Comic Book Guide, Literature Flanders and City of Ghent.
