Car
Kunsthal Gent is located in car-free area.Lange Steenstraat itself is not in the car-free zone but is adjacent to it.
For parking, we recommend the following: coming from the E40 or E17 motorway, take the Ghent-Centrum exit and follow the P‑route to Parking Vrijdagmarkt. In this car park, you can pay to park your car and you will be close by.
To improve air quality, Ghent city centre or the area within the R40 will be a low-emission zone (LEZ) from 1 January 2020. The most polluting vehicles will no longer be allowed to enter the zone. Avoid a fine and always check your vehicle before coming to Ghent.
Rather not take the car into the city centre? Then use the free Park&Ride parking zones on the outskirts of the city and come to the museum by public transport. The nearest car parks with public transport connections are P+R Galveston (€), P+R Muide (free) and P+R Weba/Decathlon (free).
More information on public transport from the P+R zones and an overview on map.
Autocar
In Ghent, coaches can let tourists get in and out at Gent-Dampoort station and at the Bijlokesite (Godshuizenlaan).
From there, the city centre is easy to reach on foot. Cars can park for 30 minutes (free of charge) at Godshuizenlaan and Bijlokekaai. Longer parking is possible at the Dampoort car park. Coaches can park for free on the Yachtdreef. There is no parking duration restriction there either.
