The various spaces within Kunsthal Gent are available for rent on days and evenings when there are no activities within the program. The combination of the building’s unique character and its practical location (in the center of Ghent), offers many possibilities and makes Kunsthal Gent a perfect setting for your event: book presentations, concerts, staff parties, receptions, lectures and many other activities.

We have the following spaces available:
Church Hall
The Church Hall is the impressive setting for the Endless Exhibition with works by artists such as Martin Belou, Eva Fabregas, Femmy Otten and Rudy Guedj. History and contemporary art come together in this space, where imposing architecture and abundant light create an ideal environment. The diverse works form an engaging dialogue that stimulates the senses and challenges the mind. The church hall, spacious, bright and with wonderful acoustics, provides a serene setting for all kinds of activities.
Cinema
On the site of the original presbytery, we built a cinema. It is a space with seven rows of benches covered with cushions by designer Antonia Vincenza (with wool from the Ghent sheep of organic farm De Zwaluw), where you can sit comfortably and warmly. The space also functions as an auditorium for lectures, group discussions and online presentations.
The Old House
The historical layering carried by Kunsthal Gent is explicitly reflected in the Old House, where murals from the 15th and 18th centuries relate to the white walls of Kunsthal Gent itself. It is a multifunctional space and has already served as a meeting place, exhibition space, skate ramp and concert hall.
Sheela's Bar
Sheela’s Bar, designed by Theo De Meyer and Olivier Goethals, is located at the entrance of Kunsthal Gent and with its five tables is the ideal place to gather with a smaller group. The bar takes its name from the Summer School that Jesse Jones and Sara O’Rourke organized at Kunsthal Gent in the summer of 2022.
