BOEM
Founded by Sare Hoste and Annelies Bollaers, BOEM is an experimental zine platform where visual art, illustration, and expression converge. The publication brings together work by both emerging and established artists from Ghent and beyond, fostering a layered dialogue between diverse styles and perspectives.
Each edition is curated around a rotating theme selected by the cover artist. This approach ensures the unique character of every issue and allows for constantly fresh viewpoints. Over the past year, BOEM has been published quarterly in limited editions, showcasing the distinct voices and visions of twenty diverse creators per issue.
By consciously bridging the gap between rising talent and established makers, BOEM fosters a network where different generations strengthen one another. The platform acts as a catalyst for new connections, both among creators and between the artists and their audience. In doing so, BOEM aims to capture the intensity of contemporary visual culture while pushing the boundaries of illustration, positioning it as a fully-fledged and autonomous art form.
