019 is happy to announce the long awaited 8th edition of the Ghent Art Book Fair. During the weekend of the 3rd and the 4th of May, we welcome over 60 national and international publishers to showcase their work in Kunsthal Gent.

Ghent Art Book Fair — S P I N O R A M A

The Ghent Art Book Fair coincides with S P I N O R A M A, an exhibition on book spines by by Aslak Gurholt (NO) & Fraser Muggeridge (UK). The spine is the reader’s first encounter with a book when displayed on a bookshelf, usually with not much effort or imagination going into the design, using the standard sequence of author, title and publisher from top to bottom. This exhibition focuses on books that have considered the spine as part of the overall cover design or concept. Whether it’s the type of content, or how it is spatially arranged or bound together, these spines are the backbone to every book.

Presented by 019 & the Graphic Design department of LUCA School of Arts – Sint-Lucas Ghent, as part of the Ghent Art Book Fair 2025. Organised by Michaël Bussaer.
