Temporary Centre for Shared Practice

This autumn, Kunsthal Gent is handing over the keys. Our space is currently transforming into a temporary workshop for young artists. With the Temporary Centre for Shared Practice, they are taking over our operations until the end of December, turning Kunsthal Gent into a shared place for experiment, encounter, and exchange.

We invite young artists to research, experiment, get to know one another, and collaborate. We are freeing up space — both literally and figuratively — so they can work out of their own practice and needs. There is no predetermined final result, but rather a shared structure, time, company, and support.

Endless Exhibition

What if an exhibition is never packed up again, but stays put forever? With Endless Exhibition, designer and curator Prem Krishnamurthy gives the art world a wake-up call. In a world where everything has to be fast, faster, fastest, he calls attention to a radical idea: what if every exhibition were permanent?

Through texts, images, conversations, and contracts, Krishnamurthy raises sharp questions about how we deal with space, time, and materials. According to him, an artwork is never truly “finished.” It can always continue to grow and change. At Kunsthal Gent, that idea is given full room to breathe: layer by layer, Endless Exhibition continues to build on new ideas and insights.
