Firas El Hallak
Firas El Hallak is an audiovisual artist and curator whose work operates at the intersection of visual storytelling, spatial practices, and community engagement. Based between Belgium and Beirut, he is the artistic director of Splinter vzw. His multidisciplinary practice spans film, installation, new media, and curating, and has been presented internationally in theatres, festivals, and exhibition contexts, including the Prague Quadrennial, the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam, and various venues in and beyond Beirut.
Alongside his artistic practice, El Hallak teaches Sound Theory at the Lebanese University. As a curator, he is known for his collaborative and context-responsive approach, working closely with artists across disciplines. His work is grounded in the belief that art can transform spaces and communities, with a particular focus on immersive, site-specific projects that foster dialogue between art, architecture, and the public.
