Jimena Pérez Salerno
Jimena Pérez Salerno is an Argentinian choreographer and dancer based in Brussels. She considers choreographic practice as a system of relations that enables different ways of imagination, attention and coexistence. She collaborates and engages continuously with other artists as a fundamental part of her exploration in collective work. In her last project, Unproductive Will, she researched the concept of expanded choreography as a critical approach towards political awareness, reflecting on linear time and productive behaviour, which she considers to be collective colonial wounds.
Jimena obtained a postgraduate degree at a.pass in 2022. She holds a MA in Scenic Practice and Visual Culture at ARTEA and Reina Sofía Museum (Madrid, 2019) and a Degree in Choreographic Composition from the National University of Arts (AR, 2014). She received a Danceweb scholarship within ImPulsTanz International Dance Festival (Vienna, 2019). Her work is supported by Bâtard Festival (slow collaboration). Current residency partners for her work are workspacebrussels and Kunstencentrum BUDA (2024−25).
