Nico Dockx
Nico Dockx is a visual artist, curator, publisher and researcher with a fundamental interest in archives and structural processes such as data, memory, information, distribution and management. His interventions, publications, texts, sounds, images, installations, performances and conversations — often the result of collaborations with other artists — embody the relationship between perception and memory, which he continually reinterprets in different ways.
Since 2000 he has exhibited internationally and published over forty artist’s books through his independent imprint Curious. Dockx is co-founder of several interdisciplinary initiatives, including Building Transmissions, Extra Academy, A Dog Republic and la Galerie Imaginaire, and collaborates with Lightmachine agency in Ghent. He obtained a PhD with the project The New Conversations and regularly initiates educational and collective formats such as Mobile Autonomy, Making Public Domain and Expanding Academy at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp.
