Tentoonstelling

Nina Beier:
Housebroken

Nina Beier's eerste langdurige presentatie in België was 'Four Stomachs', een vierjarige tentoonstelling in en rond Objectif Exhibitions in Antwerpen, van 2012 tot 2015. Meer recentelijk is ze bekend van ‘Men’, de groep bronzen ruiterbeelden die ze samenbracht in de golven van Nieuwpoort-Bad voor Beaufort 2018.

Voor 'Housebroken' neemt Beier de binnenruimtes van Kunsthal Gent in, door vijf sculpturen – elk met een massieve marmeren leeuw als basis – in de gangen, de toiletten en de binnentuin van het voormalige Caermersklooster te plaatsen.

‘Housebroken’ is vanaf zaterdag 25 mei 2019 voor onbepaalde duur te zien.
Met een introductie door curator Chris Fitzpatrick op zaterdag 25 mei om 14:00 uur.

Nina Beier (1975, Denemarken) woont en werkt in Berlijn. Beier had solotentoonstellingen in Spike Island, Bristol; CAC, Vilnius; Kunstverein Hamburg; Objectif Exhibitions, Antwerpen; Kunsthaus Glarus, Zwitserland en haar werk werd getoond in het Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; Centre Pompidou, Parijs; Tate Modern, Londen; CCA Wattis, San Francisco; Musée d’Art Moderne, Parijs; Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlijn; KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlijn; ICA, Londen; Swiss Institute, New York; the Power Station, Shanghai; Nouveau Musée National de Monaco; Kunsthaus Zürich; National Gallery, Praag; Kunsthalle Wien, Wenen; Performa 15, New York, 13th Biennale de Lyon, de Baltic Triennial 13 en de 20e Biennale van Sydney.

Chris Fitzpatrick (1978, VS) was directeur van Kunstverein München van 2015 tot 2019. Hij was directeur van Objectif Exhibitions in Antwerpen van 2012 tot 2015.
